Introducing Geoida

Geoida is a software product that will benefit members of the surveying and related professions for the day-to-day routine processing, coordination and adjustment of spatial survey data, from routine pick-up surveys to complex networks of geodetic scale.

Developed particularly for Australian requirements but with global application, Geoida uses rigorous geodetic formulae to coordinate points using user-definable parameters for any spheroid, geodetic datum or Transverse Mercator projection. Geoida reduces field observations, performs least-squares network adjustments, and converts and transforms coordinate data between different datums and systems. It also extracts and reports inverse details and exports point data in various formats suitable for other software. And it can also compute on the plane if required.

Geoida is a stand-alone product but can be used to complement other survey-CAD packages that do not provide geodetic computations, transformations or refined adjustments.

Geoida's Features

  • User-definable spheroids, datums, transformations and Transverse Mercator projections
  • Compute plane, Transverse Mercator or geographic coordinates
  • Coordinate transformations using NTv2 grid-shift, 7-parameter similarity, Molodensky, zone-to-zone, etc
  • Convert GPS heights to orthometric using AUSGeoid98 grid data
  • Import, list or export point data as either grid, geographic or cartesian coordinates
  • Process detail pick-up, traverse and network survey data
  • Manual entry of observation data, or process CDS Stadia, Civilcad Neutral and Sokkia SDR data files
  • Edit control survey observations before final adjustment
  • Traditional Bowditch adjustment of simple or complex traverses
  • Least-squares adjustment and statistical analysis of traverses and networks
  • Level network adjustment by least-squares
  • Extract point-to-point geodetic inverse quantities
  • Extensive built-in documentation
  • MS Windows 95(c) to Windows XP
  • (Geoida is under continuing development and new options and additional features are planned for the near future).
